Start Smart Programs

START SMART is the critically acclaimed program from the National Alliance for Youth Sports that helps kids get ready for organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Parents work one on one with their child focusing on motor skills that gradually build confidence while children have FUN!  Program runs for six, one hour classes.  All participants must start with the Development program and then are eligible to go on to Soccer, Baseball,  Basketball, Football (age 5-7)  or Golf (age 5-7) .

Programs offered vary by season/session.

Start Smart Sports Development

Children ages 3-5 must attend this program prior to any other Start Smart Programs.  Skills include throwing, catching, kicking & batting.  Mandatory Parent Orientation will be held at the Recreation Building at green Lake, Wednesday September 15 @ 6pm

Ages:  3-5                                    Cost:  $65.00 (each)    * Includes T-shirt and manual

Tuesdays:  Septmeber 21st– October 26th

Time:  5pm-5:55pm                              Location:  South Davis Elementary

                                               OR

Tuesdays:  November 2nd– December 7th

Time:  5pm-5:55pm                              Location:  South Davis Elementary

 

 Start Smart Soccer

Focuses on skills including: dribbling, passing, trapping, kicking, throw-ins, and agility. 

Ages:  3-5

Location:  South Davis Elementary

Tuesdays:  September 21st– October 26th

 Time:  6pm-6:65pm

Cost:  $70.00– includes t-shirt, manual, cones, shin guards, and 2 soccer balls

 

 Start Smart Basketball

Program focuses on dribbling/ball handling, shooting, agility, and passing/catching.

Age: 5-7

Location: South Davis Elementary

Tuesdays:  November 2nd– December 7th

Time:  6pm-6:55pm

Fee:  $70.00- Includes t-shirt, manual, cones & 2 basketballs

  

Start Smart Football

Program focuses on throwing, catching, kicking, punting, running, agility and good sportsmanship.   

* Development class not mandatory for ages 6 and 7

Ages:  5-7

Location:  Eggert Elementary

Thursdays:  September 23rd– October 28th

Time:  5:30– 6:30pm

Cost:  $70.00– includes football, manual and t-shirt

 

Start Smart Tennis

Program focuses on ground strokes (forehand and backhand), volleying, serving and running/agility skills.

*Development class not mandatory for ages 6 and 7

Age: 5-7

Location:  Eggert Elementary

Thursdays:  September 23rd– October 28th

Time:  6:30pm-7:30pm

Fee:  $70.00- Includes t-shirt & manual
