Start Sailing Right

Participants must wear soft soled sneakers that can be worn in the water.

No Flip Flops or sandals.  A swim test will be conducted in the lake the first class day.  Participants must pass the swim test; those unable to pass will have their credit placed on their account.

Prerequisite- must be 10 yrs of age

 

Beginner Course: 

Our beginner course is an introduction course for anyone using the S.T.A.R method, a proven system for becoming a confident, safe sailor!

Days: Monday/ Wednesdays

Time: 10:30am- 12:00pm

Location: Green Lake/ Yates Park Beach

Cost: $65.00

Session 1: July 1- July 24

Session 2: July 29- August 21

 

Intermediate Course:

This course will begin with a review of the basics.  Then move into discussing more technical aspects of sailing including sailing rigs, points of sailing, sail trimming, nautical words and phrases.

Prerequisite- must have taken the beginner course through OP Recreation or another program

Days: Tuesday/ Thursdays

Time: 10:30am- 12:00pm

Location: Green Lake/ Yates Park Beach
